I thought this snippet from a vice album review was amusing:
We all have that one friend who has like 50 New Found Glory songs on his computer and one Black Flag album. Now why would he have that? Cause he likes Black Flag? Noooope. He does it so that when I come over and go through his ITUNES I’ll say “sucksSsucksS. NEW FOUND GLORY?! YOU FAAAG! Oh wait?! Black Flag? Nice dude I didn’t know you were into them.” But he is a big faker! He doesn’t like them. He has it for faker cred. I think every dude in this band is that dude, except instead of New Found Glory it’s Kings Of Leon and instead of Black Flag its Simon and Garfunkel. Nice record FAKERS! If you are into Kings Of Leon or repetitive mid tempo modern sort of hippy rock, this is the record for you.
It sort of reminds me of this dude I know, whose name (desertweasel) will go unnamed. Haha... FAAAG! Kidding. But it really reminds me of the times when Hungus would berate Raymond K. Hessel for all the Linkin Park albums he listened to and then turn the other cheek when he discovered K. Hessel had the rare, $150 Radiohead 'Not My Fault' album and be like, "Oh wait?! Radiohead? Nice dude. I didn't know you were into them. Can you burn a copy for me?" Fucking music nazis - that's what we are.
And in closing, I'd just like to say:
LINKIN PARK?! YOU FAAAG!
