lights! camera! action!! (or, "should i stay or should i go?")

Sometimes living in Manhattan feels like you're on the set of a Hollywood movie. For instance, tonight while taking a moment away from my grande chai hot tea and my copyright book, I look outside into the late evening to discover an actor's trailer parked directly in front of Starbucks. Even common local spots are getting in on the act. Just to the right of the trailer I can see the north side wall of Veselka's Coffee Shop, home to eastern european comfort food, with its green and white sign lit up by track-lighting ala some phony hollywood backdrop. Then I break out into a big smile and have a momentary mental lapse as i have another one of my, although nowadays rare, "New York City moments", which is where I reflect back on all the romanticism and energy that attracted me here in the first place.

It's times like these I don't want to leave this place. It's times like these that make me want to silently scream,

"YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE BEST OF ME, NEW YORK!
I'M NOT GIVING UP JUST YET!"

The 60/40 split in favor of going back to California after graduation has now officially returned to the ever confusing 50/50 split.
