snow (again)
It's been a...slippery day. The combination of rain and ceaseless snow turned the sidewalks and streets into one giant slip-n-slide. People were taking dives like Mike Tyson's sparring partners. To this day I can't help but laugh whenever someone slips and falls. That and accidental farts in public places will remain timeless classics in my book. Needless to say I was laughing all afternoon long as old ladies were sliding across streets as though they were cartoon characters stepping on a banana peel. You know, with their legs frantically running in place with that "woop-Woop-WOOP!" sound effect in the background?
At least there was no wind chill factor today. Last weekend it was probably around 10 below 0. It didn't help that I was walking around all day outside showing my friends around. I think toward the wee hours of the night, i became delusional. It almost felt like us New Yorkers were superior beings because of this. When i'd talk, spit would fly out of my mouth and freeze mid-air, so it pelted, rather than dribbled, all over my friends. I couldn't even think because the thought bubbles coming from my head turned to ice, plus I couldn't understand the voices in my head because their teeth were chattering.
