change clothes... and go (sexy, sexy)

That line, which i can't seem to get out of my head, accurately describes my past two weeks in Southern California as I've found myself constantly on the go from one city to the next. Splitting time between 3 cities requires a lot of driving, but I don't mind. It's been very soothing to get behind the wheel again after such a long hiatus; almost therapeutic. Amazingly the car that I left behind for my sister is still in one piece, although it's slowly deteriorating thanks to her uncanny ability to destroy everything she touches. The radio tuner button has lost its springiness, the side-mirror adjuster button gets stuck, and I think the clutch sticks on occasion. But what can you do. Much like life, you need to ride that shit 'til the wheels fall off.

I leave for New York in 2 days. I am not looking forward to going back so soon. I've become reaccustomed to 70 degree weather, shirts without jackets, and shorts in the middle of winter. I'm looking at Yahoo!'s forecast for Friday and either God or Terry Semel has a very twisted sense of humour as i'm welcomed with a snow storm my first day back. Oh, and i'm going to miss mexican food. I think i've consumed an average of 2.5 burritos and 1.5 tacos per day during my stay here. Viva la carne asada!

Despite having to leave this sun-drenched paradise, I'm trying to envision my return to nyc and school in a positive light. So in honor of my Ali-like return to the ring, I am challenging myself to be a less critical person (both on myself and others). I'm going to try to stop complaining about things that have very little significance in this world or the next. Seems simple, right? Well being a hard-ass all the time and living in new york where the "hip" thing to do is hate on everything, you'd be surprised. Being overly critical was SO last year. So were trucker caps and Thursday nights on the town. Haha. Don't you know that Monday is the new Thursday? No comment. See? I'm already keeping my mouth shut.

Best wishes for the new year.
