l can see clearly now...
...the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my waaay.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It's gonna be a briiight, bright sunshinin' day.
...Oh yes, I can make it now the pain is gone.
All of the bad feelings have disappeared.
Here is the rainbow I've been praying for.
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshinin' day.
This past weekend it reached sixty-five degrees on Saturday and sixty-eight on Sunday! Just like that. How it can go from snowing to sixty-eight degrees in six days is beyond my comprehension, but i'll take it. I can't believe spring is already here, peoples. What's officially the first day? Friday? This was the best weather we've had since October and i took full advantage of it. I threw on my white linen shirt along with some khakis and my flip-flops and headed out to meet arvind for brunch in gramercy. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we ate at an irish joint - Pete's Tavern. Afterwards we indulged ourselves in some gelato from Cones - an award winning hot spot in the city. That place had a line that stretched out into the streets and around the corner. It seemed as though everyone came together outside to enjoy the weather; i've never seen union square so packed! All i can say is: i'm happy. I'd almost forgotten how it felt to have the sun shine down upon your face and actually have it warm your entire body. For a moment i closed my eyes and pretended to be back in san diego. It wasn't difficult to imagine. It was that nice of a day.
Today i spent the entire afternoon reading up on contracts at the library *sigh*. I've got a lot of catching up to do over spring break. I guess it's good that most people have gone away for vacation since i'll be less distracted and will be able to use my time more productively.
Tonight we went disco bowling and i had the worst showing ever. I don't even think i once broke a hundred. To make matters worse, we paired up in teams of two and made little side-bets. For the first round the losing pair had to roll up their jeans knee-high and play the entire next round looking like my fobby dad during a rain storm. Second round it was dancing a jig after every frame. The third and final round required that the losing team get up in front of everyone and do the chicken dance for a full three minutes. Embarassing, right?
I lost every round.
Well now that spring is here you know what that means: love is in the air. Coincidentally, my track record shows that every lengthy relationship i've been in began at the start of spring. At the very least, i've managed to be with someone every spring for 6 of the past 7 years. Well i've stayed true to form - I've got a hot date for this friday night! But the weird thing is that i'm not that excited about it. I should be though b/c this girl seems really cool and she's definitely cute. I think i've just got other things on my mind.
ps. - new pics are up!
