my neck... my back...no really, my back!

Pain. Debilitating pain. The kind of pain where you're afraid to even breathe the wrong way. I reaggravated the back spasm i sustained last week by playing pick-up basketball today. DAMN!! I knew within the first five minutes that something wasn't feeling right. I'm not sure exactly what caused it to happen, but last last week i just woke up in the middle of the night feeling almost paralyzed and had to take a double-dose of advil. Whenever it was time to get out of bed, i had to exhale completely and get my entire body loose, otherwise it would trigger the pain. The only thing i can attribute the pain to is from carrying too many bags of groceries home from the store - 2 days prior to when i started experiencing satan's fury. That's one of the very few things i actually don't like about living out here: the fact that most everyone has to carry their groceries home, thereby limiting the amount of stuff you can buy at any one time. I'll never curse at having to drive to the grocery store again! Anyway, back to the back. It's one of those pinched nerve things and there's absolutely nothing i can do about it. I don't even have medical insurance anymore *sigh*.

Poor me.

Although the back was partially responsible for my sluggish play, i've realized i've lost a step or two out on the courts. I play at an undergraduate gym across the street from where i live and have found that i just can't keep up with the energy level of these kids! Listen to me - i sound as old as i feel. Oh... the humani... AGGGH!!! *gimme a minute or two, please*.

Shit. That one almost made me shed a tear. This is so sad. It's seriously depressing me.

I don't think i'm going to be able to enjoy myself tomorrow night as much as i would have liked to. Does anybody have any suggestions on how i can temporarily relieve this pain?
