another snowy day in nyc
Friday night i went out with some people from school - bonnie. & arnold. We took the A-train to "Climate 8", a bar located in chelsea which is a predominantly gay neighborhood. It was supposed to be the only straight bar in that area, but you couldn't tell with all the little asian frat boys there trying to look hard while rockin' their bling and wearin' their lambda phi small-dick shirts. We met up with another guy from my class, chris, who was there with his 2 college friends from nyu. So we took advantage of the drink specials (chris knowing the bartender and all) and took some more advantage of the drink specials, then we left for a quick snack in k-town. We ended up at this korean cafe called "blue" and ordered some fries along with this korean sweet & sour pork dish and a couple bottles of soju. Afterwards, we headed over to this other lounge in the east village where a girl that chris knew was having her birthday party. It was at "XVI", and this place was hoppin' with chicks. By this time i think i had 6 bottles of beer, 3 shots of soju and a jack & coke and was feelin' alright. Definitely got my tolerance back up these past few weeks as i've been doing nothing but drinking on the weekends.
By chance i ran into angela, a girl i had met last week at "Rare" and she remembered my name and everything. I definintely got the vibe from her and so i got her number and, by the end of the night, 2 more. Next, we headed over to Cozi's Soup & Burger - a popular nyu hangout - and that's where arnold lost grip. As soon as we finished eating, we walked outside and the boy just let all the drinking come out onto the icy sidewalk. With it being as cold as it is, that shit probably froze over within 10 minutes. Good times! By the end of the night i had gotten to know chris, arnold, dave and patrick a little better, and to top it off a couple new dating projects. When it rains it pours.
To cap off the rest of the weekend, i went out with jennifer whom i met at the diner last weekend. We met at Veselka, a popular breakfast joint in the east village. I didn't quite remember exactly how she looked due to the fact i was drinking heavily the night i met her and might have come down with a bad case of the goggles, so i was a bit anxious.
But there is a God.
I had gotten there first and saw a very attractive girl come in, looking around as though she were a bit lost. As the heavens would have it, it turned out to be my date and so we sat down, split some pancakes and an omellette and got to know each other better. Afterwards she took me out for boba tea and all-in-all, things went pretty well. We made plans to see each other again, but now i've got 2 more numbers to juggle. I always heard law school would require sacrifice ;)
