some things never change...

So you'd think after going to ucsd for 4 years i'd get used to the idea of being ripped off on textbooks. You'd think. But after my little trip to the school's bookstore today, i realized that some things will never change. I walked outa there spending close to $250 for 2 textbooks and a dinky supplement! i mean, it'd be one thing if we actually were tested on most of the material from these books, but that's not usually the case. It's these greedy professors that have all published some piece of shit and are trying to boost their sales by making it required text; all for the furtherance of their next lucrative publishing deal. They make me sick. And, of course, it wouldn't be logical for these "higher institutions of education" to SOMEHOW create a system of uniformity among the textbooks required for the same course, but taught by different profs, b/c that'd actually make sense. It eliminates any possibility to purchase used books from the year before from other students. And in the rare case that they actually do have the same prof teaching the same subject two years in a row, the school knocks off a whopping 10% from the retail price on used books like they're throwing us a frickin' bone. Capitalist mother-fuckers(is "mother-fuckers" hyphenated, or is that two separate words?). Anywho...i had a long day of procrastinating on my studies, so i guess it's time to hit the books. At the prices these books are going for, i anticipate getting the most bang for my buck.
